PSG-Basaksehir interrupted after alleged racist remarks by fourth referee

Both teams were sent back to the locker room after a serious incident. The fourth referee is accused of having called the assistant coach of the Turkish team a “negro”. 


The Champions League match between Paris SG and Turks of Basaksehir Istanbul was interrupted in the 16th minute on Tuesday and the players returned to the locker room, after an alleged racist incident involving the fourth referee of the match.

The Turkish staff and the players, followed by those of the PSG, took the decision to leave the pitch after the exclusion of the Istanbul assistant coach Pierre Achille Webo, denouncing the racist remarks of the fourth referee against him.

The term "negro" would have been used "by the fourth arbitrator of Romanian nationality.

The Parisian players very quickly asked for explanations and gave their support to the protests of the opposing team.
