Herrsching - After four victories in a row, the WWK Volleys Herrsching caught it again.
In the top Bundesliga game on matchday 8, the volleyball players lost 1: 3 at home against SWD Powervolleys Düren in an exciting and heated, but not unfair game (22:25, 25:19, 23:25, 21:25).
In the table, the Powervolleys moved up to second place with their sixth victory in a row, while the Ammerseers slipped to fourth place.
Herrsching's head coach Max Hauser spoke of a "deserved defeat".
His colleague from Düren, Rafal Murczkiewicz, said: "We have shown how strong our entire team is."

The greater pressure was ultimately the decisive factor in favor of the guests.
Herrsching was stronger in the block, but Düren was more powerful and efficient in the attack.
In their new home game jerseys - dark shirt and white and blue trousers with a diamond look - the home side were wide awake from the start.
Hauser sent the winning starting line-up from the previous weeks into the race.
Jalen Penrose stayed on the bench for the entire game.
"He's still behind in training," said Hauser.
The guests suffered the first setback after a few rallies.
Björn Andrae was unable to continue playing with back problems.

The 22-year-old impressively replaced Andrae, who was almost twice his age, and fitted seamlessly into the game of power volleys.

But the man of the game was once again his team-mate Sebastian Gevert.
The diagonal attacker had 23 points, including seven aces.
At 13:14 from Düren's point of view, Gevert stepped to the service line.
And no matter what the Herrschinger acceptance bar did to Libero Ferdinand Tille and his two co-workers Tim Peter and Jori Mantha, Gevert just banged the balls around his ears.
Thanks to four aces in a row, the beefy Chilean with German roots turned the sentence.

The substitutes Iven Ferch (for Luuc van der Ent) and David Wieczorek (for Tim Peter) fitted in well with the home side, but could not do anything against turning up Düren.
The race to catch up in Herrsching was finally stopped by Marcin Ernastowicz, who was able to place the third set ball in the field.
In the fourth section, both teams played at eye level for a long time, but in the final sprint the new second in the table developed more pressure.

There was also news from the WWK volleys next to the square: It is now official that the games against the Berlin Recycling Volleys, the Helios Grizzlys Giesen and the United Volleys Frankfurt will not take place in the Audi Dome in Munich, as originally planned, but in Herrsching.
The volleyball players confirmed this on their Facebook page.
Accordingly, the games against Berlin and Frankfurt will take place at the scheduled times (December 20 and January 16, 7 p.m.), while the game against Giesen will be brought forward from December 28 to 23 (6 p.m.).
Due to the current situation in the corona pandemic, spectators are unthinkable, the club said.
The resulting costs with the associated loss of sales are too high.
