The football pitch rests quietly, but the active club hits the bull's eye every day.

After all, it's Advent time.

Schwaig - Even in the lockdown time you can look forward to a few gates.

More precisely, over 24 goals.

This is currently ensured by FC Schwaig, which gives the public a musical Advent calendar via YouTube (Schwaig sings), Facebook (FC Sportfreunde Schwaig 1913) and Instagram (fcschwaig1913).

"Every day we publish a song that fits the Christmas season and has a connection to Schwaig through the performers," explains FC spokesman Rainer Hellinger.

And so you can enjoy Hannah Kreck's version of "Hey Jude" - by the way, 40 years after John Lennon's death - or Nicolas and Gina Wachter's "Summerwine".

Incidentally, both were recorded last year at the “Schwaig singt” event - a Christmas concert that the FCS has been holding since 2015.

Hellinger initiated it at the time.

“At that time there was a bad mood because of the refugee crisis,” he recalls.

“We wanted to counter that with something positive and warm-hearted.

People should come together, regardless of skin color or origin, and sing Christmas carols together and spend a few nice hours together. "

From then on, the Schwaiger met one day before Christmas Eve in the Stockschützenhalle and sang ten Christmas carols together.

“And in between, artists appeared with songs that are not necessarily Christmas carols, but could match the mood.

So you sing yourself and then listen again. "

Blow everything off because of Corona?

Not at FC Schwaig.

"Every day we publish a song that was recorded by 'Schwaig singt' or that the artists just played at home and have now sent us as a video or just a piece of music," says Hellinger.

He names Markus König's instrumental of “Drei Nüsse für Cschenbrödel” and continues to list: “Leon Kazander, Nicolas and Gina Wachter, Michaela Mühlstrasser, Hannah Kreck, Markus Beck and Krispin Pahlke, Melissa Metzka together with Julian Maisch and Christianschichtl, Anthony Stagg “- all of them are in the Schwaiger advent calendar this year.

“Most of those involved have a relationship with Schwaig, live here, play football or the theater with us or are simply friends of ours.

And we don't even know who will deliver all of the videos. ”Hellinger says he's excited himself.

"We want to make people happy, because music connects and distracts from everyday worries."

The only question left to the 46-year-old initiator is: does he grab the microphone himself?

“I think I can't ask our listeners to sing themselves.

If so, then after the 24th, because then I can't scare anyone away, ”he says with a laugh.
