ESPN's greatest basketball players ever: Jordan First, LeBron Second, Kobe Ninth

To the full article

As every year, ESPN ranked the best players in the NBA and today (Thursday) they reached the top ten, where there are not too many surprises, except perhaps to identify the player in second place.

The first place belonged, of course, to LeBron James who led the Lakers to a first championship after a decade.

At 35, LeBron looked his best in the playoffs and also led the entire league in assists.

Second place went to Anthony Davis, LeBron James' partner for the dream season at the Lakers.

Davis was the missing piece of LA and was a very significant factor in the playoffs, with many thinking he should have been selected as the MVP of the final series and not LeBron.

Yannis Antokompo, the regular season MVP, had to settle for third place after being ranked first last year.

Yannis slipped slightly in the rankings because of Milwaukee's disappointing playoffs, which were surprisingly eliminated in the playoffs by Miami.

The one who made the big leap in the rankings is Luca Doncic, a Dallas star who jumped from 16th place to fourth place.

The wonderful Slovenian starred in the regular season and also in the playoffs, where he averaged 31 points, 9.8 rebounds and 8.7 assists in the memorable series against the Clippers, which ended in a loss.

The big disappointment of the rankings is James Harden, the king of the league's baskets who was pushed to only ninth place after players who did not play due to injuries like Kevin Durant and Steph Kerry.

Nikola Jukic, Denver's great chin, closes the top ten after being ranked seventh in the previous rankings.

Jukic made the transition to the team's quarterback position and led it to impressive comebacks in the playoffs against Utah and then against the Clippers, en route to the finals against the Lakers.
