PSG took advantage of the match against Lorient, this Wednesday evening at the Parc des Princes, to pay tribute to Gérard Houllier, the former club coach who died on Monday at the age of 73.

A minute of silence was observed before kick-off.

The announcer Michel Montana read a text for the former coach while pictures of the first historic title in 1986 paraded on the giant screens: "PSG supporters will never forget the immense emotion that had invaded the stadium at the time of the first title.

Gérard Houllier lived close to the Parc des Princes and had kept a strong friendship for the club.

We were happy to see him return.

Mr. Houllier, your name will appear forever in PSG's ledger.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have done for our club.

"

The ultras, deprived of a stadium, installed a banner “RIP MR Houllier” on Tuesday on the eve of the meeting in white letters on a black background.

At the foot of the Auteuil turn, it was overlooked by the very large banner in the colors of the Hechter jersey which currently covers the space usually occupied by the CUP.

It is with deep sadness that Paris Saint-Germain learned of the death of their former coach Gérard Houllier.

To his family and loved ones, Paris Saint-Germain offers its most sincere condolences.
