The president of the European Metropolis of Lille (Mel) Damien Castelain will be tried for “concealment of breach of trust” in the Grand Stade affair, suspected of having benefited from stones delivered via Eiffage for a personal terrace, according to the document of referral to the court consulted on Saturday by AFP.
The Lille public prosecutor's office had requested in June the referral to the judicial court of Mr. Castelain, at the head of the Mel since 2014, requisitions followed by the judge according to which the elected representative "took the initiative to request to benefit from free of charge these materials ”.
