French striker Karim Benzema, Real Madrid star, won the Alfredo Di Stefano award as the best player in the Spanish Football League for the 2019-2020 season.
The Spanish newspaper Marca quoted Benzema as saying after winning the award, "I am satisfied with what you presented and this award means a lot to me to feel proud and happy with the Real Madrid team, whose players have presented an amazing season and they deserve this award as well."
Benzema's crowning of the award comes to end the monopoly of the duo, Lionel Messi, Barcelona captain, Spanish and Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, the current Italian Juventus player and former Real star.
