This is the epilogue of the conflict between the Professional Football League (LFP) and its failing broadcaster, Mediapro.
Justice validated this Tuesday the withdrawal of the latter and a reallocation of TV rights to French football, essential to the financial balance of the clubs.
The commercial court of Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine) judged the agreement between the League and the Sino-Spanish broadcaster Mediapro, which, according to the terms negotiated, agrees to pay compensation of 100 million euros in total and especially to restore the rights of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 in its possession for the period 2020-2024.

The League will therefore be able to transfer them to one or more new broadcasters, in exchange for fresh money, which would relieve the finances of the clubs, already very weakened economically by the pandemic.
In this context, Canal + appears favorite to resume its place as a historical partner of French football and to offer itself a nice revenge, two and a half years after its humiliating ousting.
