Plan C comes into force, the Bundesliga season is over.

The bowlers at VfB Hallbergmoos respond with understanding and sadness.

Hallbergmoos

- Now it's official: Due to the corona lockdown until at least January 10th, Plan C of the German Keglerbund Classic (DKBC) - and thus the cancellation of the 2020/21 season - comes into force.

And that means: The round will restart in September with the current league structure - all previous wins, performances and results are wasted.

This decision is particularly bitter for the bowlers of VfB Hallbergmoos, who have so far held their own in fourth place as promoted players in the 1st Bundesliga with four wins and only one defeat against class leader Rot-Weiß Zerbst.

VfB active spokesman and top bowler Thomas Schneider is already looking ahead: “It was to be expected that this decision would be made, it is understandable.

From a sports point of view, however, it will be a challenge.

The quality will suffer a lot and everyone will have to work even harder to achieve our goals. ”However, he also emphasizes:“ When we are allowed to play again, everyone comes back with a bear motivation - there I am me sure.

Then I'll have to hit the brakes sooner. "

"We got together very well as a team."

Alexander Stephan, who is fourth in the Bundesliga cutting list with his away record of 648 wood, is inconsolable: “It's really a shame that the season ends like this, and above all now.

We got together very well as a team, we had fun together, and the results were perfect.

Everyone was very satisfied with the start and the performance shown. ”After the interruption, however, it was foreseeable that it would be canceled.

“It's a shame because we all enjoy bowling and we have adhered to the requirements so that the sport can function.

Our functionaries have done a very good job in conjunction with the hygiene concept.

Nevertheless, everyone has to accept the decision. ”However, the premature end of the season has one good thing:“ Of course, the positive thing is that the family does not miss out - and you also have time for them on Saturday.

Kegler boss Niedermair: "It hurts inside."

His team-mate Dietmar Brosi was relatively relaxed about the news of the end of the season: “It's difficult to say something here, because nothing like it has ever happened before.

I think the decision is tough, but in the current situation there is no planning security for the further course of the season.

Nobody knows what will happen in the next few weeks.

That's why it's the right step. ”His motto is now:“ Check it off and focus on the new start in September. ”

Department head Sepp Niedermair reacted a little more emotionally: “It's a real shame.

We have played better than expected so far.

And I not only find it a shame, but it hurts inside me that what I have achieved so far just fizzles out.

I hope that we can take this performance with us into the new season. ”In 2021/22, however, Thomas Schneider will be fully operational again after his knee problems and Patrick Krieger will be back from abroad.

"With this strong squad, it should be possible to stay up and maybe play internationally in the following years."
