After playing just 86 minutes in the Romanian league all last season and this season, 29-year-old midfielder Guy Assouline was released today (Thursday) from Polytechnic Iash, who became his ninth team of his career.
"Good news," the Romanian media reported.
"After lengthy negotiations, we were able to reach an agreement with Assouline on the release of his contract," the group said in a statement.
"Assouline held the contract until the end of next season, but eventually agreed to give up the rest of the contract and he will leave immediately."
"Not only did Assouline's contract not include a clause allowing the contract to be canceled, his salary was even upgraded from last season when it rose from 3,000 euros a month to 3,500 euros a month."

Assouline, who grew up in Barcelona where his release clause was 20 million euros, managed to make his debut in the Israeli national team uniform at the age of 17, and in recent years has moved to the lower leagues in Spain.
Earlier this year the connection was examined in Swedish Gothenburg, but did not impress and did not win a contract.
He also played for Hapoel Tel Aviv and Kazakhstan before coming to Romania.
