Manchester City announced today (Friday) that a Corona check on the team's players found four positives - defender Kyle Walker and striker Gabriel Jesus, along with two other team members.

The four went into solitary confinement in accordance with Premier League and England authorities guidelines.

Both players will miss the meeting with Newcastle (Saturday, 22:00) as part of the Boxing Day games.

The Citizens disappointingly opened the league and after 13 games they are only in eighth place with 23 points.

On Tuesday the team advanced to the League Cup semi-finals after a 1-4 draw with Arsenal, and will next meet Manchester United for a fiery derby on the ticket to the final.

Jesus scored the first goal against the Gunners, and manager Pep Guardiola will have to find solutions to the striker's absence, until he recovers from the virus.
