    Preparations for the Tokyo Olympics, which have been moved from the previous summer to the summer of 2021, are at their peak and Israel's Olympic athletes are constantly working to bring themselves to the top on the biggest stage of all.



    The Danone PRO brand from the Strauss Group, the leading brand in the protein-rich yogurt category, has announced that it will adopt six athletes from the Israeli delegation to the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2021, as well as in Paris 2024: swimmer Anastasia Gurbanko, athlete, athlete Tanatha Paralympic taekwondo Assaf Yasur, judoka Geffen Primo and gymnast Alex Shtilov.



    The athletes were selected by a joint team of Danone PRO, the Israel Olympic Committee and the Paralympic Committee and they represent a variety of athletes from different disciplines, with different experience and backgrounds.



    At a special event held at the Olympic Committee offices,

    : "For young athletes, there is no doubt that once there is a body that accompanies you all the way, it lowers worry and puts in confidence, so it is an exciting and happy day."

    The 1992 Olympic medalist,

    Yael Arad

    , added: "The public sees the athletes only in their moments of success, but sometimes they get injured or fail and this knowledge that there is someone to go with them even when it is difficult is very important information."



    The Olympic Committee

    said: "We are pleased with Strauss' decision to join a circle of highly talented athletes from Israel, based on multi-year personal sponsorship. As a food company, Strauss has found a way to support accomplished athletes who maintain a healthy lifestyle."

    On the selected athletes:

    Alex Shtilov:

    Appeared three times at the Olympics and finished sixth in the London 2012 ground exercise. He won two bronze medals at the World Championships and seven medals at the European Championships, including one of gold.

    Twice Israel's Athlete of the Year.



    Marrow Teferi:

    Immigrated from Ethiopia at the age of 14, Israeli champion in marathon.

    Competed in the 2016 Olympics.

    His wife, Salamvit at Aeulin Teferi, will also be part of the delegation (running for 5,000 meters) and this is the first time a married couple has represented Israel at the Games.



    Anastasia Gurbanko: The

    swimmer won a gold medal at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games and the European Youth Championships.

    Will participate in the Tokyo Games and aims to reach its peak at the Paris Games in 2024.



    Geffen Primo:

    Bronze medalist from the 2018 European Judo Championships.

    Won gold at the European Youth Olympics and medals at World Cup and Grand Prix competitions in recent years.



    Diana Weissman:

    Israeli champion in the 100, 60 and 100 X4 meters.

    Broke the record of Esther Roth Shakharov, who lasted 44 years.



    Assaf Yasur:

    The Paralympic Taekwondo fighter is training towards achieving the criteria for Tokyo and is aiming for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.
