Gerwyn Price is the first finalist of the Darts World Cup.
The co-favorite from Wales prevailed 6-4 against his English opponent Stephen Bunting at Alexandra Palace in London.
"The Iceman" initially had problems with the form-strong Bunting, who was quickly 3-1 lead.
Bunting, however, could not maintain his strong hit rate on the double fields (73% percent after four sets), the number 26 in the world had to be beaten by the more constant, three-seeded Price.
In the entire game, the opponents showed 13 finishes of over 100 points and thus ensured a new World Cup record, the previous record for finishes of this quality was eleven.
Ex-rugby player Price has the opportunity on Sunday (8.30 p.m., live ticker: SPIEGEL.de, TV: Eurosport) to not only secure the Sid Waddel Trophy and 500,000 pounds in prize money, he could also make it into the world rankings Put first place.
Price, the first Welshman to reach the final, will face either ex-world champion Gary Anderson (Scotland) or Dave Chisnall (England) in the final.
