The 0: 4 summary of Maccabi Tel Aviv over Hapoel Tel Aviv (Sport 1)
Heavy grief fell on Maccabi Tel Aviv with the news tonight (Saturday) about the death of Lior Yeni, the father of the team captain Sharan Yeni.
Lior Yeni (84) was a prominent actor and singer in the 60s and 70s and was part of Israeli culture.
Yini was still present at this morning's practice in Kiryat Shalom, but with the death of his father, he is of course expected to miss Maccabi Tel Aviv's games against Maccabi Petah Tikva the next day and against Bnei Yehuda on Thursday.
Maccabi Tel Aviv issued a statement saying: "The Maccabi Tel Aviv football club, the owners, management, players and employees share the grief of Captain Sharan and his family following the death of their father, Lior Yeni, who passed away tonight. May his memory be blessed."

Yeni was favored in the Tel Aviv derby last week over Maor Kandil as a right-back.
Coach Patrick Van Leven decided to go with him in a role he did not play for a long time and the captain was one of the best at Maccabi Tel Aviv.
