PSG: Pochettino arrived at the Loges camp, the officialization of his imminent signing

The Argentine coach, a former Paris player in the early 2000s, will replace Thomas Tuchel, who landed on December 24.

He's there.

As almost felt in the wake of the surprise dismissal of Thomas Tuchel on Christmas Eve, Mauricio Pochettino will become the new coach of PSG.

The Argentinian technician arrived shortly before 2 p.m. this Saturday at the Loges camp to meet Leonardo, the sporting director, and sign his contract.

The club should then quickly formalize the news on its website and social networks.

This arrival comes a few days after the officialization of the departure of Tuchel, Paris then evoking a decision taken "after an in-depth analysis of its sporting situation", in its press release on Tuesday.

The signing of Pochettino in Paris is therefore not a surprise as the former Parisian central defender (from 2001 to 2003) seemed predestined to one day cross paths with PSG.

Landed by Tottenham in November 2019, the Argentinian had yet led the Spurs to the Champions League final the previous season (just like Tuchel, moreover, fired a few months after the C1 final lost to Bayern last summer) .

But Pochettino always seemed to be on Leonardo's side.

Unlike his predecessor on the Paris bench, the 48-year-old Argentine technician was therefore chosen by the sports director of PSG, whose relations with Tuchel had weakened in recent months.

PSG: Thomas Tuchel sacked, Pochettino replaces him

Mauricio Pochettino will therefore have the mission of putting the Parisian club back in working order, while he is currently only third in Ligue 1 and his symptomatic defeat against Lyon at the Parc des Princes (0-1, on December 13) is on everyone's mind.

It is a real test that will await the new PSG coach in mid-February, with the knockout stages of the Champions League against Barça.
