Regional soccer team VfB Hallbergmoos is setting the course for the future: Defender Michael Schrödl will stay for at least one more season.
Hallbergmoos
- Rather unspectacular, but no less consequent, the national soccer division VfB Hallbergmoos is continuing its path in the second winter break of the 2019/2021 chewing gum season: After keeper Martin Dinkel and offensive player Tobias Krause, sporting director Anselm Küchle now also has Michael Schrödl extended.
The defensive all-rounder will stay for at least one more season.
Michael Schrödl (26) is a footballer who fits perfectly into Küchle's concept: He wants to further develop VfB - with players from the region who come from lower-class clubs and can take the next sporting step in the regional league.
This is exactly how the 26-year-old kicker has gone up to now: Schrödl previously played for years at FC Eitting, which commuted between the district and the district league.
Michael Schrödl: From part-time worker to defensive all-purpose weapon
In 2018 Schrödl came to Hallbergmoos and recorded eleven regional league appearances there with a total of 934 minutes of play in his first season.
But he was also extremely valuable as a part-time worker, thanks to his versatility, and there were signs that the defensive player would gain.
The statistics clearly show the next step: Michael Schrödl was on the field in 22 of the 27 games played so far in the current round.
With his 1711 minutes of play, he is currently fifth on the team's list.
VfB Hallbergmoos: This is the ideal line-up for the defense line
Michael Schrödl was one of the winners when the VfB system was changed from four to three: Together with the two leading players Dennis Hammerl and Peter Beierkuhnlein, the 26-year-old forms the ideal line-up for the defense line.
However, he has already stood his ground as a full-back and in a position of double six.
With the extension, Michael Schrödl has proven again that he is a loyal soul and not a club shopper.
In the past, the number 21 from Hallbergmoos has also clearly communicated that he wants to take the next sporting step into the Bayern League with his club.
VfB Hallbergmoos are currently runner-up in the table - level on points with Erste Karlsfeld - and so they still have every chance in terms of promotion.
