This will be the fourth time the two Manchester teams have met in the League Cup semi-finals after it also happened in 1969/70, 2009/10 and 2019/20.

Last season the away team won both games: 1: 3 to City in the first game and 0: 1 to United in the return match, which of course brought the Blues to the final.
