Ski racer Linus Straßer started the new year with success.

The 28-year-old man from Munich drove to his first World Cup victory in a special slalom on the »Bear Mountain« near the Croatian capital Zagreb.

In the second run, Straßer stormed to the front from eighth place and won ahead of the two Austrians Manuel Feller (+0.10 seconds) and Marco Schwarz (+0.16).

Straßer won the first German slalom victory since Felix Neureuther in November 2017. At a city event in Stockholm in 2017, Straßer celebrated his first World Cup victory, now followed by the second of his career in Zagreb.
