Danny Abdia and the Washington Wizards lost tonight (Wednesday to Thursday) 141: 136 to the Philadelphia Sixers away, stopping after two consecutive away wins, at the end of a crazy game.
Abdia recorded his weakest game so far this season with just one point, and one shot from the field that didn’t come in (from the half, with the buzzer to end the first half).
The Israeli will be able to take solace in the fact that after blocking Kyrie Irving earlier this week in a win over the Brooklyn Nets, this time too he blocked another huge star in the league - Joel Ambide.
However, the block did not make too much of an impression on Ambide who recorded a tremendous game of 38 points (13/13 from the penalty spot), 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
As in the game against Brooklyn, the 20-year-old Israeli did not play at all in the fourth quarter (he received a total of 16 minutes from coach Scott Brooks), and saw his teammates surrender to losers in the end and go down to a 6: 2 balance.
Philadelphia, which went up to a 2: 7 balance, dominated the game in the first half, scoring 49 points in the second quarter en route to an incredible 67:82 lead with the drop to the break.
The hosts scored in the first half 12/15 from the three-point range (80 percent).
Amazing.
Seth Kerry, who saw his brother Steph break a career-high 62 points this week, proved that Daddy Dell's good genes (a past player with an impressive career in the NBA) reached him as well and completed a crazy first half with 6/6 of the three.
Young Kerry finished the game with 28 points.
Doc Rivers' team also started the third quarter well and already had a 21-point lead.
But Bradley Bill, who finished the first half with 32 points, continued his tremendous ability and the Wizards finished the third quarter trailing by just 10, 110: 100.
Bill finished the game with 60 points - the peak of his career, and equal to the club record.
The visitors' momentum continued with the opening of the decisive quarter, and although Shavil was rested at the beginning, they managed to complete an amazing comeback and climb to a 117: 119, 8:18 minute lead.
From here we got a close game, but in a 131: 131 situation Philadelphia ran away with a 0: 8 run that the visitors could no longer erase.
Bill, who failed in minutes on the floor in the fourth quarter to restore the ability from the previous three quarters (only 1/6 of the field in the crucial minutes), missed in the closing seconds an opportunity to break Gilbert Arenas' club record after missing one of his two free throws.
The superstar, along with Abdia and their friends, will try to recover on the night between Friday and Saturday when they meet the Boston Celtics outside.
