Haller goes to Ajax
The French striker Sébastien Haller will move to the Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam for a record transfer fee of 22.5 million euros.
Haller comes from the English Premier League club West Ham United and is the most expensive player in Dutch professional football to date, as Ajax announced.
The 26-year-old Haller, who also played for Eintracht Frankfurt, signed a contract with the record champions of the Netherlands until the summer of 2025.
Haller still had a contract with West Ham United until 2024. Ajax coach Erik ten Hag brought the striker, who is also an Ivory Coast international, to Amsterdam.
Haller had already played under ten Hag at FC Utrecht.
Ajax needs reinforcements quickly in the storm.
David Neres, Lassina Traoré, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Brian Brobbey are injured.
On Sunday the top game against PSV Eindhoven, trained by Roger Schmidt, is on the program.
It is unclear whether Haller can then already play.
Ajax lead the table with one point ahead of PSV Eindhoven.
Former Werder professional Langkamp is moving to Australia
Half a year after leaving Werder Bremen, long-time Bundesliga professional Sebastian Langkamp signed a two-year contract with the Australian club Perth Glory.
“I had two or three options to stay in Germany.
But we decided to dare a new experience, «the 32-year-old defender is quoted in a statement from the Australians.
Before he spent two and a half years in Bremen, Langkamp also played in the Bundesliga for Karlsruher SC, FC Augsburg and Hertha BSC.
According to his own account, one reason for his move to Australia was his friendship with former Bayern professional Alexander Baumjohann, with whom he once played at Hertha and who also moved to the A-League in 2018.
Baumjohann now plays there for Sydney FC.
