winter sports dates
that fans are longingly waiting for.
Despite Corona, there are
exciting competitions
in
ski jumping, biathlon, Nordic combined
and Co. until spring 2021.
Biathlon dates 2020/21
The world
biathlon association
has
adjusted
its calendar for the
2020/21 season in
order to minimize corona risks.
The regional health authorities will decide whether spectators along the route can cheer on the biathlon stars.
The World Cup started in Kontiolahti, Finland, at the end of November.
There were competitions there for two weeks - then Hochfilzen in Austria followed.
The first and this year the only German
biathlon
World Cup station
is Oberhof from January 4th to 17th, 2021.
The highlight of the 2020/21 biathlon season is the
World Cup
in Pokljuka, Slovenia. In total, the athletes will stop at eight venues this season.
A look at Google Maps reveals that the
World Cup venue Pokljuka is
in northwestern Slovenia, not far from the Austrian border.
Nordic combined dates 2020/21
The Nordic combined season started on November 27, 2020 in Ruka, Finland.
There are 30 World Cup races to come by the end of the season on March 21, 2021.
The highlight of this year's season is the Nordic World Ski Championships, which will take place in Oberstdorf at the end of February / beginning of March 2021.
In addition, the stars of the
Nordic Combined come
to Seefeld, Ramsau, Beijing and Oslo.

Alpine skiing dates 2020/21
The
Alpine Skiing Association FIS
has decided to redesign the World Cup calendar.
This season men and women will be competing in different locations.
There are a total of 39 men’s races and 35 women’s competitions in the provisional
Alpine skiing
calendar.
ZDF and ARD regularly broadcast the
winter sports highlights
.
For example, World Cups for men and women only take place in the following locations:
Soelden
Zagreb
Garmisch-Patenkirchen
The
Alpine Skiing World Championship
will also take place for men and women between February 8th and 21st, 2021 in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
Ski jumping dates 2020/21

men's
ski jumping World Cup
consists
of 36 competitions
in the
2020/21 season

The highlights of this year's season are the
World Championships in Oberstdorf
and the
Four Hills Tournament
.
The Ski Flying World Championships took place in Planica in December.
There, the German team landed in second place in the team competition and thus won the silver medal.

Further winter sports dates 2020/21: tobogganing, bobsleigh, skeleton and figure skating
But not every winter sport takes place in this special year.
The
ice skating association ISU
decided to cancel most of the international competitions.
This decision affects the following sports:
figure skating
Short track
Speed skating
In the
sports tobogganing, skeleton and bobsleigh
, some competitions will
take place
in
2020/21
.
The competition calendar is reduced.
Nevertheless, the skeleton and bobsleigh riders can jump into the track seven times, while there are nine dates for the tobogganists.
The highlights are the world championships next year.
These take place in Germany - in Berchtesgaden-Königssee and Altenberg.
