A matter of time: the questions facing the Israeli national team and the Football Association
The decision that Rotensteiner has to make regarding the older generation, what will happen to Alon Hazan and why is Yossi Benyon not yet closed as technical director?
The year 2021 has opened, only two and a half months remain for the game against Denmark in the opening of the World Cup qualifying campaign, and yet quite a few issues are still open

Like the closure imposed on the professional leagues for the next two weeks, so are the preparations of the Israeli team for the start of the 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign in a kind of silence.
Willy Rotensteiner, who was chosen as the artist, has to end his hometown in Austria since December 24 and when he returns he will have to determine, among other things, who will be his assistant and what will happen to the older generation of players.
March 25 is the date for Qatar's first World Cup qualifier against Denmark and one of the burning questions is whether to rejuvenate the team as an agenda or not to take into account age.
Sharan Yeni who celebrated 34 last month may have retired after the last game against Scotland, but there are quite a few players in the national squad around this age and Rotensteiner has to decide whether to test each player individually, or come to the upcoming campaign with a decision in advance.
It is clear that the law of 33-and-a-half-year-old Eran Zehavi is different from the law of others and hence the national coach still has to choose his line.
The Football Association does not intend to dictate or try to establish any pattern of conduct and is confident that Rotensteiner will know what to do.

As for the assistant coach, this is a very interesting issue because on the one hand Rotensteiner would like Alon Hazan to continue with him and on the other hand he thinks he needs to upgrade and coach the young team.
One way or another, the Austrian will not intervene here as the decision has to be made first by the technical director who has not yet been appointed.
If when it comes to appointing a national coach, the locating committee gave gas and quickly completed the process, the selection of the technical director is not yet at an advanced stage also because the leading candidate for the position, Yossi Benyon, is probably dropping mainly due to the decision that the technical director will not be involved in the senior team.
The Football Association wants a person who will plow the land length and breadth, knows every young player and promises that he can fit in with the young age teams and is less looking for a person who is important to him to be associated with the senior team as well.
The searches are in full swing and if they continue to drag on, the foreign manager's option will also be brought to the table and carefully examined.
