Around the world running: Lootie stops in his city of Rouen

In December 2019, Rouennaise Marie Leautey, based in Singapore, set off from Portugal for a Around the world in 670 marathons for the benefit of the NGO Women for Women.

In the meantime, the health crisis and the various confinements in the countries crossed have somewhat upset the schedule.

However, she has already crossed thirteen countries and run nearly 9,700 km.

Sunday, after a journey from south to north of France, the adventurer was back in her city.

During the last kilometer, she was joined by dozens of supporters, including the world record holder for the specialty, Serge Girard.

At the foot of the Town Hall, she received a standing ovation and greeted by the mayor, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol.

Rich exchanges with the populations

Happy to be back in the city where she grew up, "which gives a special flavor to this arrival", Marie alias Looty describes the resistance of the body in the face of these repeated efforts: "We test it every day.

Every day, Marie therefore has the opportunity to interact with the populations, “because I am at the right pace, at the right height and accessible.

“To date the top 4 of my favorite countries are Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia and Albania.

They are so beautiful with a real harmony between men and nature.

People are also so generous.

One year behind schedule

The health crisis will however have made him take a year of delay.

So, Lootie is not going to linger in the Norman capital.

It will leave for Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and from Berlin, it will dive to Istanbul: “At the Bosporus, I would have concluded my first continent by zigzagging between zones of containment and deconfinement.

I hope by then that Australia will be reopened.

Then there will be Asia, North America and especially South America, because it is the only continent that I have never done ”.

Leaping and always with a smile, Lootie is already elsewhere.
