Tough draws for Israelis at the Masters Judo Competition that will take place today (Monday) in Doha, Qatar.

Against the background of the warming of relations between Israel and the Gulf principalities and especially due to the fact that the World Judo Association is very strong, Israeli judokas will be able to compete with the country's symbols on their suits in the prestigious competition in Doha.

For Sagi Muki who will be on the mat tomorrow this will be the first competition in 11 months.

The year 2020 was beyond the year of the corona also a year in which the judoka weighing up to 81 kilograms was quite a bit injured.

Muki, who won the world championship about a year and a half ago in Tokyo, opens up against a strong opponent and if he goes through the qualifying rounds and reaches the medal fights he will be able to meet his friend Said Moulay from the Iranian Diaspora who today represents Mongolia.

The new European champion Peter Plachik will want to test his strength against opponents outside Europe and in any case, thanks to his achievement from about two months ago, he will automatically advance to the second round.

Baruch Shmailov and Tal Flicker will continue today the personal battle between them for the only ticket in any weight to the Olympics.

The two, who compete in the weight category up to 66 kilograms, will try to get as far as possible and maybe even win a medal that will improve everyone's chances of representing Israel at the Tokyo Olympics 2021.

Today, the girls will compete in Shira Rashoni, Geffen Primo and Timna Nelson Levy in the light weights.

For the Israeli delegation, this is a very important test of strength 200 days before the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Tokyo.
