You don't get such post every day: In an open letter to DFB President Fritz Keller, the Central Association of the German Hairdressing Trade called on professional football to show solidarity in lockdown and criticized the footballers' styling behavior.
"The displeasure against top-styled footballers and, as a result, customer calls who want to persuade them to work illegally and violate rules such as house calls," says the letter.
Freshly coiffed football stars put an entire industry under pressure, so the allegation.
It was noted with great astonishment on the previous Bundesliga match days that a large number of football professionals presented themselves on the pitch with freshly cut hair.
“Shaved head, neck and temple hair trimmed to a few millimeters, clean contours.
Hairstyles that only professional hairdressers can cut with professional equipment, «says the association.
It has not been proven that this is really the case, that the footballers have not been groomed by partners, teammates or themselves.
At the request of SPIEGEL, the hairdressing association confirmed the letter to the DFB.
The "enormous role model function of footballers for many people" was decisive for establishing contact.
The DFB has not yet received an answer.
The around 80,000 salons of the German hairdressing trade have been closed since December 16, 2020 as part of the fight against the pandemic.
Home visits are also prohibited.
