Led by the outstanding Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith, the University of Alabama has secured the title in US college football.
The wide receiver, who had been named the best player before the final, paved the way for the 52:24 success against Ohio State with three touchdowns.
Running back Najee Harris also carried the ball three times into the end zone.
For Alabama it was the 18th championship title and the first since 2017. Smith excelled once again.
All in all, he created 215 yards of space - and that in just under half of the season.
At the beginning of the third quarter he was stopped by a finger injury on his right hand and never returned to the field.
It was "all well," he said afterwards.
Smith is considered one of the most sought-after players in the upcoming NFL professional league draft.
He was the first wide receiver to win the Heisman Trophy in 30 years.
Usually this award goes to quarterbacks or running backs.
In the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, which holds 65,000 spectators, 14,900 fans watched the finals - in compliance with distance rules and with mouth and nose protection.
In Tuscaloosa, home of the University of Alabama, contrary to strict instructions, more than 1000 fans gathered on the streets after winning the title.
