The sport of karate in Homs is witnessing a remarkable demand for its practice by all age groups, in light of the good performance provided by the governorate's players in the local championships and the remarkable results they achieve.

Chairman of the Karate Technical Committee in Homs, Rami Wanous, said in a statement to SANA Sports correspondent ... "With the increasing demand for playing the game, it is necessary to provide its requirements, support and motivate the players, especially the distinguished among them and honor them, in order to improve the reality of the game."

Wanous pointed out the importance of allocating the game to a training hall with its equipment for all categories of the game, as training is currently taking place in clubs, as a result of the game’s training hall located under the municipal stadium’s stands out of service due to the existing rehabilitation work in it, which prevented the establishment of internal camps and friendly meetings between clubs in the governorate. Or outside it to raise the technical level of the governorate teams.

News stressed the importance of supporting players and encouraging them to continue playing the game, expanding its base, supporting rural clubs practicing the game, overcoming the difficulties they face, and holding training courses for coaches to hone their skills and keep them in constant contact with the latest developments in the game.

The game is played by Al-Karama and Al-Wathba clubs, Homs workers, Al-Mukhram, Al-Shorta, Kfaraya, Al-Shabiba, Marmarita, Al-Hawash, Al-Rastan, Anz, Ram Al-Anz, and Tal Qatta.
