On December 17, the Court of Arbitration for Sport excluded Russia from the next two Olympic Games (Tokyo 2021 and Beijing 2022) for having violated anti-doping rules between 2011 and 2015 in particular.
An unprecedented decision in the history of sport which sanctioned a system of cheating institutionalized by the State and a mountain of lies and falsifications of data dissected through a long sentence of more than 180 pages.
Even if it called for an even heavier exclusion, going until Paris 2024, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) won an important battle that day in the difficult fight against cheating in sport.
A warning to athletes, who, when they are not dolls manipulated by a State, are sometimes ready to do anything to try to slip through the cracks.
