Schalke interest in Huntelaar

After Sead Kolasinac's successful return campaign, Bundesliga club Schalke 04 is working on another one, according to media reports: As reported by "Kicker" and "Bild", the traditional club, threatened with relegation, wants to guide its former striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar back to Gelsenkirchen.

The now 37-year-old announced four weeks ago that he would end his career next summer.

Until then, so apparently the plan of sports director Jochen Schneider, the Dutchman should help prevent the fourth descent in the club's history.

Huntelaar had scored 126 goals in 240 competitive games for the Royal Blues between 2010 and 2017 and shot himself into the hearts of the fans.

The "Hunter" was crowned Bundesliga top scorer in the 2011/2012 season with 29 goals and won the DFB Cup in 2011 with Schalke.

In the current season he was used in ten of 15 league games and scored five goals.

Jovic loan is perfect

The return of striker Luka Jovic to Eintracht Frankfurt is perfect.

As the Bundesliga team announced on Thursday, the 23-year-old Serb will be loaned from Real Madrid until the end of the season.

“Luka has not had an easy time in Madrid recently.

It is important for him to get back on track.

It was his great wish to return to Eintracht, ”said Frankfurt's sports director Fredi Bobic.

He had already announced the surprising transfer coup on Tuesday before the DFB Cup game at Bayer Leverkusen.

Jovic should get the number nine on his back in Frankfurt.

For a transfer fee of around 60 million euros, Jovic moved from Hessen to the Spanish top club in 2019, but did not play a major role for coach Zinédine Zidane.

Eintracht needed an attacker after Bas Dost left during the winter break for Club Bruges, as currently only the Portuguese André Silva is available as a striker.

Wolfsburg Klaus descends a league

Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg has loaned offensive player Felix Klaus to second division club Fortuna Düsseldorf until the end of this season.

Both clubs announced this.

According to their own statements, the people of Düsseldorf have the option to tie the 28-year-old to the club beyond the summer.

"Düsseldorf is a candidate for promotion and I'm dying to attack with Fortuna," said the son of former Bundesliga professional Fred Klaus.

The winger moved from Hannover 96 to Wolfsburg in 2018, but never became a regular there.

Change of national coach in South America?

The Colombian Reinaldo Rueda has resigned as coach of the Chilean national soccer team after two years in office - probably to start again elsewhere.

The FFCH association, which has to look for a new coach to resume qualifying for the World Cup in March, announced the resignation on Wednesday.

Rueda is being courted by the association of his home country Colombia.

The 63-year-old is said to inherit the Portuguese Carlos Queiroz, who was released in early December.

The FFCH highlighted “the dedication, the work and the commitment” of Ruedas, who took over the Chilean selection on January 8, 2018 and whose greatest success with La Roja was fourth place at the Copa America in Brazil 2019.
