Mark Klattenberg: "Klopp is a hypocrite. For years they have not tried to influence judges like this."
The Liverpool coach claimed ahead of the big game on Sunday that "United have received more penalties in two years than I did in five and a half years", the former referee responded: "His players dive just as wide"

Mark Klattenberg, the famous former English referee, calls Jürgen Klopp "hypocritical" following his statements against Manchester United.
Last night (Wednesday) Klopp was quoted as criticizing the referees in the Premier League who give a supposedly preferential treatment to United, claiming that "they received two more penalties in two years than I received in my five and a half years at Liverpool".
Klattenberg attacked Klopp's statement in his column in the Daily Mail and explained that he was convinced it was a psychological war and an attempt to influence the referees ahead of the top game between Liverpool and United on Sunday at Anfield.
"Klopp sounds a bit hypocritical to me if he hints that United players are trying to squeeze penalties serially. His players, like Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, have been using the same tactic for years," Klattenberg wrote.
"He claims that United players dive on purpose? That's just not true. The claim that they fall easily is true. But he can not say such a thing, while his players 'excel' in it no less."

According to Klattenberg, "Obviously Klopp is trying to make a dirty move here. Since the days of Alex Ferguson there has not been such a clear attempt to influence referees before a big game. Last year when Liverpool won every game, we have not heard such statements from Klopp."
