The district court sentenced Lior Assulin to 19 months in prison
The former striker was convicted of drug trafficking and will be imprisoned for a period of about a year and a half, after the prosecution initially demanded that he be sentenced to three and a half years in prison.

The district court has sentenced 19-year-old former footballer Lior Assulin to 19 months in prison for drug trafficking offenses.
Assouline was arrested in April 2018 on suspicion of trafficking cannabis through the Telegrass network and those around him said today that he was considering appealing the decision to a higher court.
His lawyer, Charlie Sabag, said: "We are now studying the decision and then we will decide what steps we will take."
Assulin has a long career that began in 1997 at Maccabi Herzliya and ended last year at Hapoel Hod Hasharon.
He scored dozens of goals while playing for Maccabi Herzliya, Maccabi Petah Tikva, Bnei Sakhnin, Betar Jerusalem, Bnei Yehuda, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Hapoel Beer Sheva, Hapoel Ramat Gan, Hapoel Rishon Lezion, Hapoel Petah Tikva, Hapoel Ashkelon, Hapoel Marmorek and Hapoel Nazareth Elite in the two senior leagues In recent years he has worn the uniforms of MK Holon, Hapoel Lod and Hapoel Hod Hasharon in the lower leagues.
