Brooklyn Nets general manager Sean Marks claims that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are "convinced" of the team's path after joining James Harden in a trade that upset the NBA.
Marx further claims that both Durant and Irving are willing to make the necessary battles on the field to allow the new team to succeed, and even noted that he consulted with the duo regarding the move.
"I wanted to hear what they think and how committed they will be," Marx said, "I enjoyed hearing their level of persuasion, and we have some time to see how that will be realized on the pitch."
Marx is well aware of the questions surrounding Harden and his ability to adapt to a team with such two dominant stars.
He argued that he should not have raised the issue of the amount of "touching the ball", rather they did it themselves.
"Ultimately, that's what we need to hear," Marx said.
"It's the level of sacrifice, and these guys know it. And each of these guys is able, you know, to lead a team. To be the star of the team. And you know, there will be nights where they'll have this opportunity. There's nights where it's It will happen for two or three. "

And what about Irving, who has not played for Brooklyn since Jan. 5 and missed five games for "personal reasons"?
Marx claims that Irving "already expects to return to the pitch" but confirms: "There is no doubt that the club is disappointed that Kyrie is not with us. I expect him to return soon."
By the way, according to ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith, "If he continues like this, sources have made it clear to me that Brooklyn has the option to be released from the contract with him."
