Encouraging Katsch took one quarter to get acquainted with the huge gap that exists between Panathinaikos' historic status and her current place in the Euroleague.
In his debut on the lines, Fenerbahce opened a gap of almost 20 points after one quarter, went on to a 74: 100 victory and illustrated the deep problems of Katsch's new team, both on a professional and mental level.
Katash already seems to have liked the players, but for now it's not enough.

In "Gazzetta" we interpreted Katsch's debut on the lines, defined it as "nightmarish" and noted the coach's statement at the end that "I could not influence the game".
"Katsch has internalized the depth of Panathinaikos' problems, and now he must start making an impact. He does not have much time to waste," they wrote.
Commentator Dimitris Contos wrote on the SDNA website that "Katsh is not a magician, and cannot repair in two days what they have destroyed for years."
In a commentary column on Sport24, they wrote that "encouraging Katsch really had no effect on the game. It seems that his players did not accept the positive effect that happens when a new coach arrives, neither at the professional level nor at the psychological level."
The column argued that Pau's main problem is defensive, and wondered if Katsch, who is known as a coach with an offensive orientation, could fix it.
"Katsch's most urgent task is to improve commitment on defense. Katsch is known as a player who has a positive effect on players on a mental and psychological level, but he is not the man who will radically change the team's defense. Starting next week, a difficult schedule awaits him in the Euroleague: next Thursday, Pau will host Moscow Khimki, who will arrive with special motivation after the dismissal of Rimas Cortinitis, a week later will host Real Madrid, and before the big derby against Olympiacos on February 5, will host Valencia.
"Katsch's level of difficulty will increase as time goes on," Sport24 noted.
