2021-01-16T18:26:01.225Z

This Saturday, the former PSG player scored his first goal under the colors of the German club, against Mainz (1-1).

He was very close to being the hero of the day in Dortmund.

Thomas Meunier scored his first goal under the BVB colors this Saturday against Mainz (1-1), as part of the 16th day of the Bundesliga.

With an uncontrolled strike at the entrance to the area, the former PSG player, transferred to Germany last summer, put the two teams tied while his own were led, a quarter of an hour from the term.

Three minutes later, the Red Devil caused a penalty
 missed by Marco Reus.

Despite a clear domination throughout the meeting, the two teams thus left back to back (1-1).

In the standings, Dortmund (29 points) therefore misses the mark and remains 4th, four lengths from Bayern Munich, which is one game behind.

Failing to be the savior of Dortmund, Meunier therefore allowed the Yellow and Black to save the furniture, facing an opponent largely within their reach.

At the end of last season, the Belgian international did not extend his contract with the capital club, which he joined in 2016. After four seasons, marked in particular by a complicated relationship with some of the fans , he had crossed the Rhine to begin his German adventure.
