The snow cut Chambly in its tracks.
After their victory (3-1) last Friday with a direct opponent for maintenance, Pau, Bruno Luzi's players were to receive Niort to try to win for the first time this season, a second success in a row.
But this match of the 20th day of Ligue 2 was postponed because of the state of the lawn, heavily snowed, at the Pierre Brisson stadium in Beauvais.
From the morning, the leaders of Chambly expected this outcome.
"We warned the players not to come to the stadium," said President Fulvio Luzi.
If the lawn of the Pierre Brisson stadium has a heating system, this was not enough to melt the snow sufficiently.
After a final inspection by referee Sylvain Palhies and the delegates, the postponement was formalized just over an hour and a half from kick-off.
This is the first meeting of this 20th day to be postponed.
Earlier this Saturday afternoon, Troyes - Sochaux, while the snow was falling and the state of the lawn deteriorated, was able to go to its end (2-1).
In order not to remain at forced rest this weekend, the leaders of Niort have asked that the match be played this Sunday.
But the deadline was too short for Chambly who will play from Tuesday in Valenciennes for the 8th round of the Coupe de France.
