For captain David Abraham it was the last game in the Bundesliga.
A career in Frankfurt - 179 games in five and a half years - came to a quiet end, which would have been a honorable farewell.
The loss of Abraham hurts the followers, despite their understanding that he is returning home for family reasons to spend more time with his son in Argentina.
After Abraham's last game, in which he performed routinely and suppressed several Schalke counterattacks, tears rolled down.
He exchanged his jersey with Manuel Gräfe, the referee.

The Schalke truth:
Eintracht has not lost a home game this season, FC Schalke have not yet won an away game.
The crisis mode now continues as the bottom of the table because the S04 competitors Mainz (17th) as well as Cologne (16th) and Bielefeld (15th) had scored a point - only Schalke went empty-handed on this matchday.
