Good news for Barcelona.
The Spanish association announced today (Tuesday) that the disciplinary committee has ruled that Leo Messi will be suspended from just two games.
The captain faced a heavy suspension after being sent off in a 3-2 loss on Tuesday in the Super Cup final against Athletic Bilbao, but will ultimately be absent from only the next two meetings, one in the Copa del Rey against Cornia, and the other against Elche in the league.
When the flea returns on January 31 it will be against the same Bilbao at the Camp Nou.

The red card that Messi received due to the same violent hit without a ball in Asier Viehlibre, was in fact his first direct dismissal of his career in the Barcelona uniform after 753 games.
This figure is also what probably led to a reduction in his penalty, although the penalty used in such a case in La Liga is a suspension for at least four games.
