Sports bowler Daniel Süss wants to get back to his old level of performance at VfB Hallbergmoos.

The Freisinger had been in contact with the club for a long time.

Hallbergmoos

- “I switch to play and have fun,” says bowlinger Daniel Süss, who joins VfB Hallbergmoos from Bundesliga club KC Schwabsberg.

There, the 34-year-old wants to do his part to ensure that the second team climbs two leagues up from the BOL to the Bayernliga sooner or later.

Daniel Süss, who was born in Moosburg and lives in Freising, has been under contract with the club from Baden-Württemberg for the past two years and was also placed in the Champions League and the NBC Cup for the KC.

But a bicep tear and two lumbago shots threw the bowler back, who had previously played in the 2nd division at ASV Neumarkt and BMW SKK Landshut.

He could no longer match his best performance of 652 wood.

Now Süss wants to get closer to this personal record without stress and pressure through many assignments and training.

The short drive to Hallbergmoos is the big plus

For many years there had been conversations with Sepp Niedermair: The VfB department head wanted to win Süss for his club, because the short distance between his residence in Freising and the bowling facility in Hallbergmoos was a big plus for him VfB spoke.

"At that time our first played a lot lower, but we always stayed in contact," says Niedermair.

A few months ago, the division head of the Bundesliga team - also on the advice of top bowler Thomas Schneider - contacted Süss again to recruit him for the second team.

"Since I have known the Sepp and Hallbergmooser Bahnen for a long time and have been friends with Tom Schneider since I was young, this offer came in very handy," emphasizes Süss.

“I only need ten to 15 minutes to Hallbergmoos, I save myself the long journeys and will be able to gather a lot of match practice in the second team in order to get back to my old form without too much strain.

The aim is to get Men II into the Bayern League. "

Daniel Süss grew up to be a successful bowler in Moosburg

In fact, Daniel Süss grew up bowling: his father Jürgen “Jogi” Süss played for Rot-Weiß Moosburg and was involved as a station attendant.

“When he cleaned and maintained the lanes, I was always there when I was a little boy and used the time to throw a few balls.

The Moosburger trainer discovered me and took me under his wing. ”That paid off: Süss won several district and district championships and became a successful bowler.

The 34-year-old, who works as a purchasing and sales manager at a large solar company, has a second great passion besides bowling: darts.

He plays actively in two clubs, with the Freising team “Undercover” and in Moosburg with the “Glorreichen 8”, but also follows the world championships and other title fights on TV.

But now Süss hopes that training will be possible again soon.

Because he misses bowling, but so does his 90-year-old grandfather Erich Süss.

He was the last of the family to join this sport in 1997.

Daniel Süss is proud of his grandfather, who still skittles third in Moosburg and competes in the senior C district championships.
