In the summer of 2016, after quite a few offers from big teams in Europe, Swiss striker Brill Ambolo decided to sign for Schalke, who paid more than 20 million euros for his team at the time in Basel, when he was only 19 years old.
But expectations are separate and reality is separate.
Ambolo has been involved in just seven games in his first season in which he scored two league goals.
The following season he scored three goals followed by five.
Schalke decided to say goodbye to him and he moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach.
In two seasons at Gladbach, Ambolo was signed for quite a few disciplinary offenses, for which he missed quite a few games.
Last season, in 28 appearances he found the net eight times and this season in 14 games he has only three goals, after missing several games including Gladbach's last game, which ended in a 0-1 win over Werder Bremen.
The reason Ambolo missed the last game?
According to a report in the German "Bild", he violated the instructions of the corona in Germany when he spent time at a large party, without masks and without keeping distance.
And if that wasn’t enough, when police arrived on the scene and knocked on the door, Ambolo tried to escape.
He reportedly climbed onto the roof of the building through one of the windows, and tried to infiltrate another apartment, until he was apprehended by police.
The party was attended by 23 young people - 15 of them women, who were reportedly dressed in minimal attire.

Ambolo later denied taking part in the party in a post he posted on Instagram: "I spent time with a friend, we sat at his house and watched a basketball game. I admit, it was silly of me, but it's not true to say I spent time at the party."
