Until this week, no one in England really knew Tom King.
Although the anonymous goalkeeper made one appearance for the England team up to the age of 17, he had a hard time finding his place at Millwell and was loaned to a number of lower league teams.
In 2019 he joined Newport County, and in uniform also entered the history books - or, more precisely, the Guinness Book of Records.
The 25-year-old King's big moment came last night, when he scored his first goal of his career, in his side's 1-1 draw with Cheltenham.
It happened with a goalkeeper kick, which under the auspices of the spirit subdued the opposing goalkeeper Josh Griffith, and according to the Guinness Book of Records it is a goal scored from the longest distance of all time - 96.01 meters.
This is a rather impressive improvement from the previous record set by Asmir Begovic, then in Stoke City - a goal from a distance of 91.9 meters against Southampton.
"I could not dream of such a thing," said the happy King.
"I'm happy, it's definitely something that will make my family very happy. I got enough Guinness books at Christmas, so performing in one of them would be very nice."

On the goal itself he said: "I wish I could sit here and say that was exactly my intention, but I do not practice such things. It happened to me as a child on smaller pitches, but that it would happen in a professional game is a dream. My plan was to cook a goal."
