Due to bad weather, the Hahnenkamm descent planned for Saturday in the Men's Ski World Cup in Kitzbühel has been canceled.
"Due to the current weather situation and the condition of the slopes", the jury made this decision together with the organizing committee, announced the International Ski Federation FIS.
Rain in the lower section of the route had too badly affected the slope on the legendary Streif, the organizers said.
The organizers wanted to decide on the competition program for Sunday by noon.
Actually, a Super-G should be started at the end of the weekend.
"I almost expected that when I got up this morning, I took a quick look and it didn't look good," said Andreas Sander, who was fifth on the piste on the first descent on Friday.
It was snowing lightly in Kitzbühel and there was fog.
The race on Friday was overshadowed by two heavy falls.
It was added to the program as a replacement for the failed Lauberhorn run in Wengen.
