The Swiss Beat Feuz, triple holder of the downhill globe title, has this Sunday private for 17/100 the French Johan Clarey of a first World Cup victory at 40 years old.
The Austrian Matthias Mayer at 38/100 completes the podium.
No skier had signed a double the same year in the Tyrol resort since Luc Alphand in 1995. A performance made possible this year by the cancellation of the other classic in Wengen (Switzerland), due to cases of Covid- 19 in the station, which allowed Kitzbühel to recover a descent.

»Thank you @yoclarey who takes the best time in # Kitzbühel!

Feuz, freed by his consecration Friday after four second places on this legendary track, signs a feat that even the king of Streif, Didier Cuche (5 victories) had not achieved: in 1998, he had failed in the second place after a success the day before.
To crown these two victories, the Bernese took control of the general downhill classification from Matthias Mayer.
Initially scheduled for Saturday, the second descent was postponed to Sunday, still without a public, due to a thin layer of snow on the track and fog, which reappears on the top of the descent after the passage of the first bibs.
Johan Clarey, fourth Friday, signs his best place in Kitzbühel, after his podium in 2017, thanks to his efficiency in the sliding part at mid-descent.
For lack of a first success on the circuit, the oldest French descender still inscribes his name in the history of his sport by becoming the first skier for more than forty years on a World Cup podium.
