At the age of 32, tonight (Sunday) Kevin Grosskreutz announced his retirement from football.
The midfielder, who also played as a right-back, was part of the squad of the German team that won the World Cup in 2014 and in addition won with Borussia Dortmund two championships (2010/11 and 2011/12) and the cup in 2011/12.
In addition, he reached Borussia Dortmund with the Champions League final in 2012/13, where they lost 2-1 to Bayern Munich at Wembley.
In 2015 and after a decline in his ability, Grosskreutz was released from Borussia Dortmund and moved to Glatsray and from there continued to Stuttgart in the second division, to Darmeschadt and for the last two years played for Ordingen.

Grosskreutz is an ardent fan of Borussia Dortmund, grew up in the stands of the stadium and to this day goes with his children to games in the stands behind the goal (when there is no Corona of course).
