The president of Brazilian soccer club Palmas Regatas and four of the team's players were killed today when their plane crashed shortly after take-off from Porto Nacional airport.
The club, Palmas Regatas, the Brazilian fourth-division team, said on its Instagram website that "the small plane was carrying Lucas Meera, the club's president, and quadruple Lucas Praxedes Willerme Noi, Anoli and Marcus Molinari, in addition to the pilot known as Captain Wagner."
The plane was on its way to Goiania, the capital of the state of Goiás, which was scheduled to host the (Diamond Regatas) and its host (Yalla Nova) match tomorrow, Monday.
This accident brought back to the memory the tragedy of the crash of the Brazilian club Chapecoense in 2016, which led to the death of the majority of the team's players and technical and administrative staff.
