Stephen Curry took another big step among the NBA's top shooters.

He had five triples in the game between Golden State and Utah and has 2,562.

Thus surpassed the mark of 2,560 triples that Reggie Miller left after his brilliant career in the Indiana Pacers.

Miller achieved that mark in 18 seasons, from 1987 to 2005, with a 39.5% accuracy rate.

Curry, 32, has needed just over 11 seasons to get the mark, in a clear sign of the evolution of the game, with an increasing preponderance of shots from maximum distance.

Curry is only surpassed by Ray Allen, the fine shooter who distributed his 18 seasons in the NBA, from 1996 to 2014, between Milwaukee, Seattle, Boston and Miami, and obtained 2,973 triples, with a 40.6% accuracy.

"My favorite player growing up was Reggie Miller."

Miller appeared by surprise in the game that the Warriors lost to Utah in Salt Lake City (127-108).

"You are an inspiration to the kids," Miller told the Warriors point guard.

"It's something very special," Curry said.

“When I was a kid I watched Reggie play against my father, I admired how he moved without the ball and I imitated many of the things he did.

I've always said that he and Steve Nash were my idols.

Reggie and Ray's longevity and accuracy in the three-shot is impressive and it has a point of madness to be at this point now. "

Miller continued to praise Curry's career and work and sacrifices in order to achieve the level of play and skill that he demonstrates.

"I know the sacrifices that that implies," he said.

Curry had 24 points against Utah, higher thanks to 23 points from Mitchell, 17 from Conley, 14 from Bogdanovic and Clarkson and 11 from Gobert, who also grabbed 14 rebounds.

Golden State is ninth in the Western Conference.

Curry is having an excellent start to the season and has been the main architect of the resurrection of the Warriors, who last season were the worst team in the NBA with only 15 wins in 65 games.

Kevin Durant had left the team, Klay Thompson missed the entire season and Curry could only play five games because he broke a hand.

Klay Thompson was injured again in November.

He broke his Achilles tendon and will be lost again all season.

But the Warriors have started better than anticipated.

With Curry averaging 28 points;

Wiggins, 18;

Oubre and Paschall, 12 as the number two in the last draft, 19-year-old center James Wiseman.
