The Six Nations Tournament at the U Arena in Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine)?
The idea seems to have already been killed in the bud.
This Saturday, Racing 92 president Jacky Lorenzetti had suggested that his enclosure - which he owns - host "in a bubble" the fifteen matches of the Tournament, a competition threatened by the Covid-19 pandemic.
But this proposal is, obviously, not on the agenda for Bernard Laporte, the president of the French Rugby Federation (FFR), who dismissed it out of hand this Sunday.
“Patrick Serrière (
Editor's note: the general manager of Racing 92
) called me just in case, to find out if that could be a solution… But that has never been studied, Laporte assured AFP.
You never know, depending on the developments but, today, that was not even mentioned ... Today, the Tournament will be played normally.
"
Next week will be decisive
Bernard Laporte has constantly remained optimistic about the holding of the competition while next week will probably be decisive on this file, the public authorities having to make a final decision soon.
The proposal of the Paris La Défense Arena had already received an inadmissibility from the Ministry of Sports, AFP had learned from an official source.
The VI Nations Tournament is due to start on February 6 for the XV of France, in Rome against Italy, before two trips to Ireland (February 14), then to England (March 13).
A competition threatened by the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic and the new measures at the borders of Europe, which impose quarantines.
