Teams from the geographical north have not always had it easy in the 2nd Bundesliga.

St. Pauli is fighting against relegation, Hannover 96 is running behind their own expectations in the lower midfield.

With St. Pauli, Hanover and Holstein Kiel, three northern clubs have now won on Sunday.

A special reason to be happy for Holstein Kiel, who is on the relegation place at the end of the first half of the season: In the south, Bochum, on the other hand, did not get beyond a 1: 1 (0: 1) in Sandhausen.

Kevin Behrens had put the relegation candidate in the lead with a strange goal.

Behrens shot at the right post from close range, but the ball came back and Behrens pushed it over the line (44th minute).

Bochum struggled offensively;

Sandhausen's new signing at goal, Stefanos Kapino, who was loaned from Bremen, remained unemployed for a long time.

With his first notable action, Kapino got the yellow card for Zeitspiel (70th).

All the more bitter for him and Sandhausen that Robert Zulj hit his head to equalize in the final phase (84th).

Sandhausen's Patrick Schmidt saw yellow-red in stoppage time.

With the Kiel 2-0 (1-0) victory of the »Störche« in Darmstadt, they move up to third place and close to Bochum.

Only two points separate the Schleswig-Holsteiners from Bochum.

Against Darmstadt, which has one of the weakest defensives in the league, Fabian Reese (40th) and Darmstadt's Immanuel Höhn scored in their own goal (55th).

Among other things, aluminum prevented a higher victory.

After a chaos in the Darmstadt penalty area, Reese only hit the inside post shortly after his opening goal in front of the goal (42nd).

In the initial phase, Janni Serra failed because of the Darmstadt goalkeeper Marcel Schschuhe (9th).

It is Kiel's first victory after three games without a win in the second division.

Most recently, after the cup sensation against Bayern, there was a defeat against Karlsruhe.

Especially surprisingly, Hanover beat 1. FC Nürnberg.

5: 2 (2: 1), Hanover prevailed in the duel of the long-time Bundesliga club.

Manuel Scheffler initially brought the Franks back in (35th) after Marvin Ducksch (20th) and Timo Hübers (24th) had scored in a double strike.

In the second round, however, Nuremberg went under.

"Club" keeper Christian Mathenia did not look particularly good, especially when Florent Muslija (deflected but central free kick, 72nd) and Patrick Twusami (shot into the near corner, 86th) scored.

In the meantime 3-1 by Genki Haraguchi, however, he had no chance (58th).

Nuremberg's Johannes Geis shortened shortly before the end with a free kick (89th).

Hannover moved up to sixth place thanks to the success, six points separate the team from the relegation place.

The victory of FC St. Pauli against Jahn Regensburg was extremely important.

For the first time since the sixth game day, Hamburg jumped from the relegation ranks with a 2-0 (1-0) win.

Guido Burgstaller (27th) and Omar Marmoush (49th) scored for St. Pauli.

Shortly before the preliminary decision, Regensburg's Scott Kennedy hit the post (48th).

With 16 points, St. Pauli in 15th place is now one point ahead of Sandhausen on the relegation rank.

Regensburg has four points more as thirteenth.
