The president of the TuS Chemnitz-Altendorf, Franz Munzer, has criticized the German Gymnastics Federation (DTB) for its processing of the allegations of abuse at the Olympic base in Saxony reported in SPIEGEL.

In addition, he defends himself against the dismissal of the Chemnitz trainer Gabriele Frehse demanded by the DTB.

“A completely overwhelmed Deutscher Turner-Bund, who believes that with a pawn sacrifice Frehse will bring peace to the shop again!

This will not happen like that, "Munzer told the gymnastics portal" gymmedia.de ".

Accordingly, representatives from Chemnitz made it clear in an interview with the DTB last Friday that they "do not recognize the result of the investigation commissioned by the DTB and will take further legal action if necessary".

In addition, the association will not allow Frehse "to be chased from the farm like a leper," said Munzer.

He described the investigation by a Frankfurt law firm as "doubtful".

He also emphasized: "Without Ms. Gabriele Frehse there will be no more high-quality top-class gymnastics in Chemnitz."

The DTB announced on Friday that, according to the report by an independent law firm, it considered "serious breaches of duty" by Frehse to be proven.

In a statement, the association had called for the trainer's employment to be terminated by the Olympic Training Center in Saxony.

In addition, the DTB demanded "emphatically" to terminate the employment relationship with the Dutch trainer Gerrit Beltman in Chemnitz.

He has been working in Chemnitz since last year - although there are also serious allegations of mistreatment against him.

In both cases, however, the DTB can only make recommendations.

Frehse's employer is the Olympic base in Saxony.

Only Beltman is employed by TuS Chemnitz-Altendorf.

Munzer rejected Beltman's notice of termination at »gymmedia.de«.

Ex-world champion Pauline Schäfer and other gymnasts had made serious allegations against Frehse in SPIEGEL.

She and a dozen other athletes had reported that they had been mentally abused by the trainer at the federal base in Chemnitz, some of them for years.

In addition, Frehse gave them strong painkillers or drove them into the eating disorder.

Everything for maximum success.

Frehse vehemently denies the allegations.

Schäfer had subsequently criticized the DTB for the inadequate processing of the psychological violence at the Olympic base in Saxony from their point of view.

"There are a lot of vague statements, the bottom line is that none of us now know what to do next," said the 24-year-old gymnast from the German Press Agency.

The association responded to the criticism.

The skepticism that

Schäfer expresses, one can understand.

"One of our tasks in the coming weeks and months will be to convince the athletes of our will to change and to involve them in this change process," the association announced.
