Now it's official.
Following the dismissal of Frank Lampard, Chelsea announced tonight (Tuesday) the expected appointment of Thomas Tuchel as his replacement as the Blues' manager.
The 47-year-old German coach arrives at Stamford Bridge after two and a half years at Paris Saint-Germain, from which he was sacked about a month ago following a dispute with Leonardo, the professional manager of the French club.
"I want to thank the club for trusting me and my team," Tuchel said. "Thank you for the privilege of being part of the Chelsea family - it's a great feeling."
As you may recall, the Blues fired Frank Lampard this week after a season and a half, following his recent disappointing ability and results.
After 19 games, Chelsea are only 9th in the league with 29 points.
