Head of division Norbert "Bene" Ortner wanted to start planning for the start of the new season in autumn immediately.

Ortner surprisingly announced his resignation as head of the ice hockey division last Sunday.
“We have initiated a restructuring process in the board of directors.
There are young, capable people there now.
The plan was to work with them to train them.
But now it was said: You don't want that.
And I don't want to stand in the way of development, ”said the 58-year-old, who most recently headed the department with a small team of treasurer Monika Lenttner and secretary Lisa Steidl, justifying his retirement.

TSV President Stefan Rießenberger conveyed the message about the unwillingness of the potentially new management team to work with Ortner.
“That was a cruel day.
I'm sorry for Bene because I like him and we're friends, ”Rießenberger confessed after the conversation.
"It will leave a gap, but now the others just have to roll up their sleeves," said Rießenberger, who did not want to reveal the names of the new "ice chopper" tour.

The successor (s) of Ortner, who was in office for seven years, must first be elected at a general meeting.
However, this can still take a while due to the corona restrictions.
"Until the day of the new elections, the TSV Presidium is now in charge of the division," reported Rießenberger.
For Ortner himself, the grief over the abrupt departure is somewhat limited.
“I'm not angry with anyone, even if the upheaval came a little quickly.
It was originally planned that I would do it for six years, now it has finally become seven, ”said Ortner, who says he is leaving the office without resentment.
"This is not about me as a person, but about Peißenberg ice hockey," Ortner clarifies.
"The young people who are coming now have different views and opinions, that's fine," says Ortner and hopes that his successors will master the challenges ahead.

However, the bus operator will not say goodbye to ice hockey entirely.
“I'm still the boss of the development association.
I will stay that way too, there is plenty to do, ”says Ortner, who is very concerned about the next generation.
"We have to look ahead and continue to work calmly," demands TSV President Rießenberger.
He would like to see a smooth transition, for which he and his presidium will initially be responsible until the elections in the ice hockey division, which are not foreseeable until further notice.
